抄録
近年，医療分野におけるデータベース研究が増加している．この増加の背景には，関連規制の改正やデータ共有の普及，利用可能なデータソースの急増，収集データのデジタル化と標準化，デジタル技術の進歩，エビデンスに基づく医療と政策立案の着実な推進など，様々な要因が挙げられる．日本でのデータベース研究は，診療報酬（レセプト）データから電子カルテ，疾患レジストリ，コホート研究に基づく研究までと幅広い分野に及んでいる．本稿では，日本におけるデータベース研究の現状とその動向に焦点を当てる．PubMedから検索した2018年から2022年までの5年間のデータを分析した結果，日本国内におけるデータベース研究の論文数が増加していることが裏付けられた．この増加は，利用可能なデータベースの増加に関連していると考えられる．データベース研究は，保健・医療サービスや政策立案などの領域に新たな知見を提供しており，今後も信頼性の高いエビデンスをさらに生み出し続けることが期待される．

Abstract
In recent years, there has been an increase in the number of database studies within the healthcaresector. This upsurge can be attributed to various factors such as the revision of related laws and regulations, widespread adoption of data sharing practices, proliferation of available data sources, digitization and standardization of historically collected data, advancements in digital technology, and the steady promotion of evidence-based medicine and policymaking. In Japan, database studies encompass a broad spectrum of areas, including research based on administrative-claims databases, disease registries, cohort studies, and electronic medical records. This review focuses on the current status and trends in database studies in Japan. An analysis of data of five years (2018–2022) retrieved from PubMed, provided further evidence for the growing prominence of database research in Japan. This surge is likely linked to the expansion of the available databases. Database studies can yield new insights into areas such as patient assessment and the decision-making processes in medical care, health services, and policy formulation. There is a growing expectation that database studies will continue to provide reliable evidence in the future.
