Japan’s social security system, with benefit expenditures totaling 140 trillion yen, represents the largest expenditure item within the government’s general budget. We are researching what is necessary to ensure the system remains reliable in the VUCA era, while simultaneously pursuing sustainability, efficiency, and functional enhancement.
