Research theme and outline
After the accident at the Chornobyl nuclear power plant in 1986, the quarantine stations of Japan have been testing radionuclides in imported foods. However, only European products are tested, and the analysis is limited to radioactive Cs. Therefore, from the viewpoint of ensuring food safety, we are conducting study on the concentrations of various radionuclides (radioactive cesium, strontium 90, plutonium, uranium, potassium-40, and polonium-210) in imported foods from various countries.
