Research theme and outline

My primary area of expertise is policy and service delivery system for rehabilitation in Japan and other Asian countries. I conduct research utilizing Japan’s medical and long-term care claims databases to examine the provision of rehabilitation services, as well as additional databases to identify effective interventions for preventing functional decline in older adults. At the international level, I am engaged in research on health information systems and workforce development as part of the WHO’s “Rehabilitation 2030” initiative. Through these efforts, I aim to contribute to the development of well-coordinated rehabilitation systems that effectively address unmet needs.
