Research theme and outline

Assessing pharmacists’ competencies by utilizing medical information databases

With the progression of an aging society, issues such as polypharmacy and leftover drugs have become increasingly critical social challenges, leading to an expanding role for pharmacists. On the other hand, the specific benefits brough about by pharmacists’ interventions have not been sufficiently examined, resulting in a lack of evidence for determining the allocation of healthcare resources.
To address this, focusing on the potential application of medical information databases that have been developed in recent years, I have been conducting research to assess pharmacists’ competencies, primarily in community pharmacies.
