Research theme and outline
Responding to Japan’s changing demographics
The aging and shrinking of population in Japan are progressing at a rapid pace. The changes in population structure is also likely to cause stagnation in rural areas. In such situations, from the viewpoint of public health, I am trying to find ways to reduce socially determined health inequality, looking at the contribution of mortality patterns by age and sex differential and regional differences in life expectancy at birth.
